6 Lions Pride wrestlers hit the mat at the Pat Nailen in Memphis this past weekend
We had a pretty good turnout for the Pat Nailen this weekend in Germantown TN. We wrestled well and took home some iron. It was a long day for the older boys as they didn't start wrestling until 1PM. However, when they hit the mat they were ready.
Sean Sesnan our youngest wrestler attending the tournament got bumped from the 65 weight class up to 75 giving up a 6th of his body weight. Despite only having 4 months of wrestling experience he showed he is a future state champion in waiting. He won his first match hitting a few takedowns and some knee tap rolls. On his next 2 matches he wrestled older 75 lbs boys and he had his hands full. He made his opponents earn every point. We are proud of the way Sean handled his weekend. even at 10 he exemplifies sportsmanship. Congratulations Sean, you will go far I promise you.
Our older wrestlers had great showing and nearly everyone of them had state qualifiers or state placers from TSSAA in their weight classes. The average weight class had 6-8 wrestlers and we all took medals home. Great job to the older guys and keep up the hard work.
Here are your weekend warriors and how they finished:
